About the English Department
Establishing the English Language Department at Al Qalam University College in 2010-2011. The department aims to prepare English language teachers who possess the basic skills for teaching in secondary schools, in addition to preparing them educationally and training them in scientific research through research projects and familiarity with linguistic theories and developing students’ ability to speak and language communication Proper expression and pronunciation, in addition to developing teaching capabilities through seminars, publishing annual research, cooperating with corresponding departments, contributing to community service through cooperation with general directorates and participating in field visits organized by the college.

The Aims:
- Preparing specialized teaching staff in the fields of language and literature in the English language in order to work in the various sectors of the state and its institutions in the form of employees, translators and teachers in Iraqi schools and institutes and others. And the preparation of teaching competencies specialized in the English language at an academic and scientific level that keeps pace with global education.
- Serving the state institutions and their various joints with what they require in the issues of translation, Arabization, conferences and other activities.
- Preparing consultations regarding uses related to the English language as a science on the one hand, and English literature as a heritage on the other hand, to contribute to the advancement of the educational process and education in various fields, both in the public and private sectors.
