Professor of Civil / Hydraulic Engineering. He obtained a bachelor's degree in Water Resources Engineering in 1982 from the University of Mosul. And a master's degree in hydraulic engineering in 1990 from the University of Baghdad, And a PhD in Hydraulic Engineering from the University of Baghdad / Baghdad in 2000. He has started academic service in Iraqi universities since 1988. And he got an assis. Professorship in Hydraulic Engineering in 2002.
Dr. Thamer has supervised several master's programs. and doctoral students and bachelor's scores. Graduation projects in various Iraqi universities.
The main areas of research are hydraulic structures, earth dams, concrete dams. He teaches a lot of engineering courses such as fluid mechanics, and hydraulic engineering, and design of hydraulic structures, and water resource engineering, water supply, and sanitation engineering, and space engineering.
