civil engineering Department

The inception of the department

Since the establishment of the Civil Engineering Department in 2018/2019, the department has been seeking to expand its research activities, Education and advisory services through the various specializations in the department, which include:

Structural engineering, transportation engineering, soil engineering, water resources engineering, surveying engineering, structural materials engineering, structural management engineering, environmental and health engineering.
The Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Sciences awarded by the department is obtained through a study program over a period of four academic years. The graduate is awarded a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and is entitled to obtain the identity of the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate.

Vision

Achieving the department’s mission through the development of curricula for the initial studies and the development of a research program that keeps pace with scientific development in the engineering fields and the development of the scientific and administrative staff to achieve the objectives of the Civil Engineering Department and create an effective and distinguished role for the department among the departments of Al Qalam University College at the country level to meet the quality requirements at the global level in addition to To improve and develop the department’s position in community service by expanding the services provided to the community.

the message

Work on preparing an advanced program that leads to the creation of an engineering cadre that has the ability to develop and create the personality of an engineer capable of making the right decision to solve engineering problems, up to a high level of efficiency and excellence qualified to build the country and advance the urban reality and its infrastructure. And improving the future outlook of the department’s position and position in the community through the escalation and expansion of the public services provided by it to the public and private sectors, and through continuing education programs, public lectures, and the provision of advisory services.

Aims

  • Preparing civil engineers with a distinguished ability in the design, implementation and management of various engineering projects, They have comprehensive knowledge in the basics of civil engineering.

  • Graduating engineers who have the ability to apply design, management and construction methods in engineering projects and have the ability to acquire communication skills and teamwork in multidisciplinary projects .

  • Guiding the student during the study stage to take an active role with his colleagues in a way that ensures the spirit of cooperation and teamwork.

  • Creating an engineering personality for the graduate who can absorb and diagnose engineering problems and the environment in his surroundings and deal with them wisely and scientifically based on his scientific stock in addition to preparing him to take a leading role at the scientific and administrative level and contribute to the development of society.

  • Preparing graduates to serve society effectively and efficiently.

  • Continuity of communication channels with graduates through scientific conferences and symposia, regular social events, Continuing education courses.

  • Community service by teaching staff who hold graduate degrees and through the services of the college’s advisory office.

  • Building a broad base of relations with solid educational institutions in Iraq and the world to improve the educational process through the exchange of experiences and information .

  • Developing research engineering education to reach a prestigious level in order to achieve quality requirements.

  • Developing scientific laboratories to ensure the progress of the educational and research process and giving the student professional experience in engineering applications.

  • Continuous review of curricula in order to develop them to the scientific level that keeps pace with scientific progress and the needs of society.

  • Maintaining abreast of the latest developments in the fields of civil engineering, by periodically re-evaluating the study plans and curricula offered .
